After a district win over Comanche early in the week, victories were had to come by for the Kingston Lady Redskin softball team in the tough McLoud Tournament.
Kingston toppled Comanche, 9-6, with tournament defeats against Bethel, Harrah, Jones and Bridge Creek.
The Lady Redskins next travel to Durant for their final regular season tournament action this weekend ahead of returning home Monday in a rematch with Comanche.
In the Comanche road triumph, Kingston trailed 4-1 after five innings but exploded in the next frame to score eight times in taking control for the important league win.
Kenadea Elkins started the decisive sixth-inning rally with a one-out, solo home run over the leftfield fence. Ava Bain followed with a double and Ayli Minor singled, but that was only the start of eight straight hits by the Lady Redskins as they nearly batted all the way through the lineup.

That uprising provided enough of a cushion for Khloe Hall, who fired the final four stanzas in the pitching circle to record the victory. She allowed just one earned run while scattering five hits, struck out four and walked one.
Hughes led the offensive charge with two hits and drove in three runs. Elkins contributed two hits and Langford ended with three RBI.
In the tournament losses, runs were tough to come by for the Kingston offense.
Coach Aaron Minor’s club notched seven hits against Bethel but suffered a 6-3 loss in spite of a three-hit offensive effort from Elkins that included a double and home runwhilescoringthreetimes. Bain also managed two hits.
The Lady Redskins put together a late rally but came up short in the 5-3 decision to Harrah despite once again finishing with a hitting advantage. Bridgeman and Elkins both doubled as part of the team’s six hits.
They produced only one run with a tough defensive performance in a 6-1 verdict to Jones. Reagan and Destry Davis had the team’s lone hits.
A 4-0 loss to Bridge Creek was the finale with the only Kingston hits coming via a Hall double and singles from Elkins and Reagan.
