January 18, 2022 was the first game back after t he New Years classic ten days ago. The game was originally scheduled for last week but was postponed until now. Coach Rumer had the engine running on all cylinders tonight. Final score, 60 to 34, advantage to the Lady Redskins.
The scoring carne early and often with five players tallying points. Kamry Bohannon found herself open and she had two three-pointers and two field goals. Laney French had a three and a field goal. Ethel Stewart and Kaya Wiebener each ha d buckets and J aci Herndon was 2 of 2 from th e line. At the horn, the Lady Redskins were up, 20 to 10.
With the speed that the Lady Redskins were able to move the ball up and down the court, you knew it was not a pace the Lady Indians wanted. Every chance the Lady Redskins ran and pushed it. In the second quar ter, Emily Bellettini got busy and had three field goals and a free throw. Olivia Quapaw off th e bench hit a threepointer. Raegan Davis had a field goal, as did Herndon. Bohannon was 1 of2 from the line. lntothelockerroorn, the Lady Redskins went, leading 35 to 22.
The pattern tonight seemed to be that each quarter a different Lady Redskins would take the lead. The third quarter was French's turn. She had a three and a twopointfieldgoal. Bellettini was good for three inside buckets. Bohannon added an exclamation three-pointer. Going to the fourth quarter , t he Lady Redskins led, 58 to 26.
This game was going nowhere but the win column. French would add another three-pointer to her total. Herndon had a field goal and it was all free throws after that. Quapaw was 2 of 3, Tabitha Arnold was 1 of 2, Bohannon was 0 for 2 and Bellettini was 1 of 2. The final score was 7 4 to 36, the Lady Redskins.
