Kingston Track teams compete in 3A State Meet

The Kingston Redskins and Lady Redskins performed well at the 3A State Track meet at Western Heights High School on May 6 and 7, 2022. Although the teams didn’t win, they were able to bring home some medals and score some points.

The Redskins did outstanding work out on the track. Junior Brycen Ward won the gold medal in the 800m run making him a State Champion. He also placed sixth in the mile run and eighth in the two-mile run.

Junior Damon Rowe placed third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.1 seconds which was also his fastest time of the season. Freshman Cash Walker leaped his way to a seventhplace finish on Long Jump.

Senior Brycen Ellisor had his season best throw of 48 feet 4 inches in Shotput which landed him a seventh-place finish. The Redskins also had a second-place finish in the 4 by 800m relay with a time of 8 minutes and 15 seconds. The Redskins finished fifth place overall with 43 points.

The Lady Redskins brought home medals for their sixth-place finish in the 4 by 800m relay. They finished with a time of 10 minutes and 40 seconds. This was also their best run of the season by a little under 4 seconds.

Sophomore Emily Bellettini tied for ninth place with two other individuals in High Jump. She had a jump of 4 feet 10 inches. The Lady Redskins tied for twenty-seventh with a total of six points.
