After a t en day, Covid related break, Coach Taylor Wiebener was hoping to not see any rust on his team during the Red skins v. Marietta game on January 18, 2022. No rust and a 25-point first quarter put this game away quickly. Redskins win, 74 to 36.
Things mostly went well for the Redskins when Brady Brister got off to the quick start - two threes and two field goals for 10 points. However, that wasn't all the Redskins had in their arsenal. Dakota Wiebener zeroed in on two threes as well.
Reed Cason was playing way over the heads of the Indians. He h ad two buckets and a free throw. He added two blocked shots just for good measure. Mason Burkhalter and Brycen Ward each h ad buckets. Marietta did not manage to score until 3:25 left to play in the quarter. After one quarter, the Redskins were up 25 to 3.
To start the second quarter, the Indians opened with a press. Burkhalter had a layup and the Indians changed their plan. It was way too much Cason in this quarter. He had three buckets and one was a dunk. Brister had a bucket, Eli Gilger had a three-pointer , Matchen had a bucket and two free throws. Wiebener was already going to the bench . The lead at the half was, 44 to 17.
In the third, the Redskins wer e moving the ball to the open man. Six players scored. Tucker Rumer was open for three and hit it. Burkhalter, Brister, Cason, Wiebener all with buckets. After three quarters, Redskins were in command, 58 to 26.
The fourth quarter was over quickly, and everyone was in on the action. Drew Anderson and Raffe Patterson each had a bucket and a three-pointer. Ward had two buckets of his own. Hayden McKinney h ad a field goal. Redskins won 74 to 36.
Box score: Brister lead the team with 15 points. He was followed by Cason who had 12 points. Wiebener and Ward each h a d eight. Matchen and Burkhalter each with six points. Patterson and Anderson, five points each, Rumer and Oliger both had three. McKinney had two points. As a team, 4 of5 from the line for 80 %.
