Kingston boys crush Silo 61-28 to open New Year’s Classic

The Kingston boys faced Silo in the opening round of the 2020 New Years Classic Jan. 9 at the KMAC.

This one was over pretty quickly as the visitors were outmatched as Kingston cruised to a 61-28 win.

Dakota Weibner hit two really nice three point shots. Jase Hayes continues to play well added two field goals and was 2 of 2 from the line. Also Kaden Johnson had two from the field and Brady Brister added one of his own. After one, the score was 18 to 8.

Second quarter action, Johnson kept the pedal down with two three point goals and Hayes again was good for two more field goals.

Marshall Ludrick hit a pretty three. Brister and Drew Capps both had a field goal. Meanwhile, Silo was still struggling.

They could only manage 2 field goals in the quarter. The score to end the half, 36 to 12.

The third quarter was much the same, the Redskins were spreading it around.

Hayes had two field goals and a pair of free throws. Brister and Johnson and Jesse Rose all added field goals.

Weibner was 2 of 2 from the line. The score after three, 48 to 20.

In fourth quarter action, Coach Taylor Weibner had reserves in and coasted to the finish line. Johnson and Cole Morgan each had a three. Scoring field goals were Price Shore, Hayes, Bryan Ellisor, Tucker Rumer.

Hayes led the way with 18 points. Johnson was the other Redskin to score in double digits with 14 points.

Also scoring for Kingston were Weibner with eight points followed by Brister with six points.

Morgan and Ludrick each had three while Shore, Rose, Ellisor, Capps and Rumer all score two apiece.
