Redskins v Bulldogs

Kingston had a battle on their hands in the first quarter againstSulphuronFebruary 9. The Bulldogs finished the opening quarter with a 13-12 lead. The Redskins fought back and with some timely shooting and hustle from their guards, they were able to take a 25-21 lead over the Bulldogs heading into intermission.

The second half was all Redskins, as they began to extend their lead as the game went along. Up by six after three quarters, they turned on some defense to hold the Bulldogs to only five points in the final stanza. Big man Reid Cason was in foul trouble early in the game but was able to manage his time and came alive with some big buckets in the paint for the Redskins. Kingston finished off Sulphur 55-39.

Cason led all scorers with 17. It was a balanced attack by the Redskins as Brock Rumor dropped in 12, Sam Walkeradded11andHayden Seeney contributed nine to the victory. Up next for the Redskins is a matchup with Plainview to finish off the regular season.

Lady Redskins v Lady Bulldogs

TheLadyRedskinsgotout to a quick start, as Emily Bellettini scored seven of the first eight points for Kingston. Good defense and ball movement held the Lady Bulldogs down and Kingston took a 15-5 lead after one quarter. Success continued into the second quarter and the lead grew to 26-10 heading into the locker rooms.

Sulphur managed nine points in each of the last two quarters, but could not keep up with the Lady Redskins and ultimately fell 49-28. Bellettini led all scorers with 18 points and Joley Heydon chipped in 13 in the victorious effort.

Kingston improved to 1010, 6-4 in district play which is good for 3rd place in Lake Country. Sulphur fell to 1013 overall and 3-6 in Lake Country play. Kingston now faces Plainview in the regular season finale before heading to the playoffs.
