Harrah Basketball Tournament: Choctaw routs Kingston 91-52

The Kingston Redskins made the trek north to the Harrah Tournament where they faced Choctaw in the first round on Dec. 12.

Coach Taylor Weibner and his youngsters took on an athletic and quick team from just up the road in the Choctaw Yellowjackets.

In first quarter action the Redskins fell behind quickly.

The speed of Choctaw was forcing the Redskins into turnovers. The mistakes were responsible for quick and easy buckets. The offense suffered as well. Kaden Johnson had 4 and Brady Brister had three for all the scoring. The score at the break was 24 to 7, advantage Choctaw.

Second quarter was better but Choctaw was on their way to a lopsided victory. Johnson had 6 for quarter and Dakota Weibner had a pretty three and two free throws. Drew Capps was fouled and was 2 of 2. Redskins down, 38 to 20.

In the third, Brister had 5 points followed by Johnson who had 3. Jesse Rose continued his good play in the paint, he had two. The third came to a close with Choctaw holding an imposing lead, 67 to 30.

Coah Weibner went to his bench early in the fourth quarter, and the scoring was spread out between 6 players.

Another player continuing to play well has been Jase Hayes. His scoring has yet to come around but his rebounding and ball handling have been steady. Redskins fell, 91 to 52.

The Redskins will play again @ 11:30am Friday against Mount St. Marys.
