Madill’s high school boys cross country team rode strong efforts across the board to the team championship while the girls placed fifth in the Cameron University Invitational last week.
JoseCamposwastheWildcats’ top individual with a seventh-place medalist time of 17 minutes, 26.46 seconds on the 5K course.
Ryder Douglas checked in 11th with a time of 17:51.19, Jayden Barbosa was 12th in 17:52.63, Alex Orta ended 16th at 18:02 and Blane Hawthorne checked in 26th clocking in with a mark of 18:58.39.
Madill also picked up a 40th place finish from Yadel Sanchez in 19:25.41, Gael Gallegos took 41st at 19:25.76, Canyon Phillips was 58th with a time of 20:12.97, Saul Martinez ended 75th in 20:36.16, Vincent Acquaviva checked in 106th at 21:37.17, Dayton Gimenez was 115th in 21:54.61.
Other Wildcat runners included Ronny Rivera, 126th (22:44.46); Azaeel Rivera, 129th (22:53.47); JuanPadronrodriguez,140th (23:24.09); Juan Narvaez, 149th (23:54.77); Enrique Martinez, 155th (24:16.84); Ethan Martinez, 165th (24:54.39); Xavier Quintanilla, 175th(26:17.23);andIsaac Quiroz, 178th (27:43.15).
The Lady Wildcats finished fifth in the team standings on the two-mile course behind powerhouses Plainview and Washington along with Heritage Hall and Bethel.
Senior Yadira Barbosa was strong once again as she placed second individually in 13 minutes, 14.71 seconds.
Katelyn Acquaviva was the next Lady Wildcat finisher in 39th with a mark of 15:24.13, Jeylah Cabrales took 44th in 15:43.12, Isabell Stuckey checked in with a 47th place effort of 15:48.62, Jayleen Vasquez was 52nd at 16:12.38, Samantha Ortiz clocked in at 16:37.75 for 57th, Lexington Willis was 64th in 16:51.10 and Hadon Stuckey ended 67th at 17:01.28.
Madill’s junior high girls and boys also claimed team titles at Central Marlow.
