Autumn Bryant is a senior at the Madill High School, and is the daughter of two very proud parents, John, and Summer Bryant. She has two younger sisters; Lily Bryant who is a sophomore and Sophia Bryant who is a fifth grader.
Bryant has attended Madill public schools since prek. During her school career, Bryant has participated in everything from band, training for football and wrestling, softball, basketball, cheerleading, and helping run and set up the local track meets. She is also a member of the National Honor Society the last few years, as well.
Bryant has been a part of band since the sixth grade. Over the years, she has learned to play the mellophone, French horn, saxophone, and even a little on the ukulele. Last year, she and her fellow band members received a superior at the regional marching contest and then won at state.
This year so far, they received third place in their district and eighth at OBA. However, with all those accomplishments she said that winning at regionals, which was a first in twenty-five years for Madill band, is her absolute favorite memory. She said her band directors have been a crucial part of her life.
“My band directors pushed me to be my very best,” she said, “I’d like to say thank you to my them for always holding us accountable and for being some of our best friends.”
She has been a trainer since her sophomore year. She said that she has learned so much over the last few years as well as made tons of friends while doing it. She said she has quite a bit of appreciation for the coaches she has worked with over the years.
“The coaches have all been great, but I’d really like to thank Coach Shaw for always appreciating the trainers.”
“I’d also like to thank my parents for always being there for me and moving me unconditionally,” she continued, “and my mom for inspiring me to do what I love.”
She had a few more thanks to give to the important people in her life.
“I’d like to say a special thank you to Ms. Rushing too for always being there for me over the four years.”
Bryant’s plans are to attend OU or ECU college and major in Dental Hygiene. When it comes to advice to the younger classmates, she said to never stop doing something you love and enjoy high school while it last, because it’ll be gone before you know it.
“It’s always a great day to be a Wildcat!”
