Travis Bryan Reese

Travis Bryan Reese of Oakland, Okla. was born on February 4, 1933 in Madill, Okla. to the late John Franklin Reese and Zelpha Mae Tullos. He was raised in rural Oklahoma where he learned the value of hard work, honesty, and dedication.

At the age of 16, Travis United States Army and bravely fought for his country in the Korean War. After 21 months of service, he returned home to marry the love of his life, Nonnie Marie Crider, on August 8, 1953. Travis and Nonnie left Marshall County to start their family in Ft. Worth, Texas where they spent 39 years raising their children and grandchildren.

Travis worked hard to provide for his family at General Motors and, in 1992, he and Nonnie retired to Oakland, Okla. where they were able to enjoy watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Travis was known as a dedicated husband to Nonnie, dad to three children, granddad to nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and friend to many. Regardless of the name he answered to, Travis was always known for his character, commanding but gentle presence, and shining example of good and right.

On December 10, 2020, Travis was called home and was welcomed into the arms of his loving Savior and all those who went before him. Travis’ greatest love was his family and his greatest strength his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ. With great sorrow, Travis’ family places him in God’s hands knowing it is with great joy and peace that he spends eternity in Heaven, and they will one day be reunited under God’s grace. Until that day, Travis’ life and shining example will continue to serve as an inspiration to all that were honored to know and love him.

Travis Bryan Reese is survived by his children; Sandra Jean Holybee and husband David of Ardmore, Okla., Travis Bryan Reese Jr. and wife Noelle of Centennial, Colo., his grandchildren; Harmony Peters, Jennifer Woodrow, Stacy Zamora, Robert Branch, Caleb Williams, Kimberly Reese, Travis Bryan Reese III, Morgan Reese, and Carlee Reese, 15 great grandchildren, and his brother Jimmy Reese and wife Brenda of Burleson, Texas.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nonnie Reese, daughter Doris Ann Reese, granddaughter Stephanie Wilhoite, and several brothers and sisters.

Family and friend’s visitation was held Tuesday, December 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.

Service was Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Randy Kendrix officiated the service. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
