Ronald Wayne Green

Ronald Wayne Green, 85, peacefully entered the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2025 at Medical City Decatur after a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 30, 1939, in Caddo, Okla. to the late Edd and Sylvia Green. Ron attended school in Caddo, Okla. and moved with his family later to Madill, Okla. 

Ron served in the United States Army and fought two tours in Vietnam, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Ron retired in 1978 at the rank of E-7, Sargeant First Class. 

In May of 2024, Ron was so proud to be a part of the Honor Flight 54 and travel to Washington DC with his grandson and many other veterans. Ron enjoyed square dancing for many years and volunteering at the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie Texas, as well as being active in his local Wise County, VA chapter. 

Ron enjoyed driving and traveling even up into his early 80’s, most recently to Britton Hill, Fa,. and to Yellowstone and the Redwood National State Park. Ron’s favorite pastime was being with his family, he attended every Green/Culbreath family reunion each year, traveled out of state to spend time with cousins in North Carolina and Louisiana, as well as his children and grandchildren in Tennessee, Colorado and Wyoming. When at home in Texas, he spent time with his sister, nieces, nephews and their families. 

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Sylvia Green; daughter, Rhonda Rae Green; brother, Donald Green; grandson, Trenton Houck and nephew, Ashley J. Green Ron is survived by his children, Rebel Hagan and husband Bill, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Ronald W. Green, Jr., and wife Peggie of Roxton, Texas, Velvet Touchette, of Pennsylvania, Valieta Early of Wyoming, E’erin Houck and husband Wade of Grand Junction, Colo.; grandchildren, Will Hagan, Stephen Hagan and wife Brit, Jericho Hagan,
Jonathan Roberts, Raven Young and husband John, Samuel Roberts, Joshua Touchette, Rebecca Touchette, Taylor Springer and wife Lauren, Brennan Richardson, Jordan Houck and wife Taylor; great grandchildren, Winter Hagan, Maverick Hagan, Andrina Sampson Hagan, Kevin Roberts, Everleigh Touchette, Beau Springer and Emery Houck; sister, Marilyn Biggerstaff and husband Jerry of
Chico, Texas; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2025, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Interment will be at Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. JD Culbreath will officiate the service. Music will be arranged by Jamie Carr. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Casket Bearers will be Ronald W. Green Jr., Stephan Hagan, Jericho Hagan, Wade Houck, Joe Bartee, Marty Casillas and Charles Romines.
