Peggy Yvonne Chapman

Peggy Yvonne Chapman, 86, of Madill, Okla. passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Peggy was born on August 21, 1939 in Ozark, Ala. to Walker and Winnie Ezell. In her younger years, Peggy worked at Sears which she retired from in 1975.

Peggy’s life was forever changed on April 2, 1971 when she married the love of her life, Donald Ray Chapman. An immediate family was created on that day. Together, they raised a family consisting of one daughter, Scarlet, and three sons, David, Billy and James.

Peggy and Don always worked hard, even after they had both retired. They were the living definition of Entrepreneurs. Over the years, they owned and operated multiple businesses including a video store, furniture store, a motel, multiple rent houses, flip houses and many other investments. Although they always worked hard together, they also played hard together and enjoyed life to its fullest. They loved traveling, they loved to gamble and they loved being with family.

Peggy and Don were true inspirations and lived the lives that most people only dream about having. They loved one another dearly and were truly inseparable. Although they were briefly separated on Earth over the last few years, they are now reunited for eternity in Heaven.

The legacy that they leave on their family is one to behold. A family that started out with six has grown to include over 25 great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include: Todd Turner and girlfriend Lindsay Heflin, Amanda and DJ Wells, Jeremy and Sandra Wilson, David and Kat Wilson, Josh and Kristen Wilson, Stacey and Chase Awalt, Amanda Ishmael, Weston and Candy Chapman, Jessica and Jonah Douglas, Mariah Chapman and Zach and Lauren Chapman.

Peggy attended the Luella First Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas. She was a Christian and she loved the Lord. Now she can be reunited, not only with Don, but also with all of her other loved ones that have gone on before her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Don Chapman; siste,r Linda Whitman and husband Freddy; brothers, Colbert and Bill Ezell; parents, Walker and Winnie Ezell; and sons Billy and James Chapman.

Visitation was from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Brother Bobby Hawkins officiated the service. Interment wasat the Linn Cemetery in Linn, Okla.

Casket Bearers were Steve Atkins, Jim Copeland, Kaden Turner, Raiden Chapman, Jude Chapman, and Ron Gentis.
