Rogers
It is with heavy but joyful hearts that we announce the home going of Patricia Ann Rogers, 88, who was faithfully called home into the presence of Jesus on December 16, 2024.
Born on October 28, 1936, Pat lived a life defined by wisdom, kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother,grandmother,greatgrandmother and cherished friend to all who knew her.
Pat accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Inglewood Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, Texas, where she was baptized alongside her girls on Mother’s Day. She often spoke of God‘s faithfulness in her life, saying “God has always taken care of me since the very day I was born.”
Pat had a lifelong passion for the Colorado mountains, where she camped many times with her husband, Jim and her three daughters, Pam, Martha and Sandy.
Pat is preceded in death by her father, Lillard Sanders; mother, Ruby Owen’s Sanders; and five of her eight siblings, Morris Overton, Donald Sanders, Dixie Bond, Gloria Dean Roberts and Verlin Sanders; as well as her beloved husband of 47 years, James Rogers (wed on September 28, 1962).
She is survived by her siblings, Wanda Tharp, Gene Sanders, and Barbara Stubbs; three children, Pam Gonzales and husband Mike, Martha Bercen and husband John and Sandra Smith and husband Glenn; six grandchildren, James McLemore, Joseph Bercen, Jessica Thompson and husband Bradley, Nathaniel Smith and wife Hailie, Darcy Pecoraro and husband Luke and Luke Smith; great grandchild Cooper Smith.
Celebrations of Patricia‘s life was held during a visitation on December 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and te funeral service was on December 20 at 11 a.m. Both events were held at first Baptist Church of Plano (3665 W. President George Bush Highway in Plano, Texas).
Even though Pat will be missed greatly, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace resting in the arms of the Lord Jesus.
