James Keaton Hill, born November 14, 1934 at East Lasiter, Okla. at home to Otto Lee Hill and Edith Sarah Barrett Hill. James went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2020 at Brookside Nursing Home, Madill, Okla.

James attended school in Kingston, Okla. grades 1 through 12. He was active in FFA. He graduated in 1953 and was a member of the KHS Alumni. Upon graduation, he attended Murray State College in Tishomingo and graduated with a degree.

James married Daisy Estell Reed on June 9, 1955 and they had Robert Norman Hill March 10, 1956. James worked for an oil company doing survey work and traveled extensively throughout the United States from 1956 through 1959. He especially enjoyed his adventures in the great Southwest.

James attended University of North Texas and acquired his degree in Agriculture. He was a federal meat inspector for USDA until he retired in 1996. James was a walking encyclopedia of the history of Marshall County, Okla. and the Hill family. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone who was interested.

James loved animals. He loved the dairy cows on the farm where he grew up, faithful dogs and beautiful horses. He always had a dollar in his pocket to give a niece or nephew. James loved his family. He was affectionately known as Uncle Jim or “Big Jim” to his family who loved him dearly and will miss his encouragement and his stories.

James was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Edith Hill, his sister Roberta Jean Wieting and his wife Daisy Reed Hill.

James is survived by his son, Robert Hill of Duncan, Okla., brother, Jerry Hill and wife Marsha from Kingston, Okla., nephew, Dr. Michael Wieting and wife Shelley of Tazewell, Tenn., niece Crystal Beck of Kingston, Okla., nephews; David Hill of Comanche, Okla., James Hendricks and wife Laura of Madill, Okla., Beau Hendricks and wife Elizabeth of Edmond, Okla., and several great nieces and nephews.
