DavidLutherThomas,age93,ofKingston,Okla.,passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home in Kingston. He was born on November 5, 1932, in Madill, Okla., to the late Demps Maston Thomas and Hanna Elizabeth (Bellamy) Thomas. He was raised in Ardmore and later made his home in Kingston.
David married Dorothy Lea Bailey on August 11, 1973, and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2014. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he worked as a rural postman for the United States Postal Service, faithfully serving the Kingston community.
David was a member of the Cowboy Church. He enjoyed a simple and joyful life—raising chickens, dancing at the Pacesetters, sharing coffee and donuts with friends, fishing and spending time at the Madill Senior Citizens Center.
David was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; and brother, Samuel Thomas He is survived by his children, David Lee Thomas of Ardmore, Okla., John L. Thomas of Wilson, Okla., Debra Kay Thomas of Ardmore, Okla., Joann L. Wells and husband, Eric, of Ardmore, Okla.; grandchildren, Karilyn Owen of Los Angeles, Calif., Heather Williamson of St. Paul, Minn, Kandace Skidmore of Ardmore, Okla., Guston Wells of Oklahoma City, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Cian Byrne, Isabella Skidmore, Paige Williamson and Archer Williamson; special friend, Cheryle Davis of Kingston, Okla.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. Funeral service will be Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, Okla. Service will be officiated by Donnie Lehr. Interment will be at the Kington Cemetery in Kingston, Okla. Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
