Bobby Ray Fanning

Bobby Ray Fanning, 90, of Anadarko, Okla., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 20, 2025, in Yukon, Okla. He was born on January 2, 1935, to Thomas William and Margaret (Finch) Fanning in Purnell, Okla. Bobby was raised by Josephine
Fanning after the passing of his mother. 

He grew up and attended school in Graham, graduating from Graham High School in 1953. Bobby married the love of his life Emma Jean Fogle on October 8, 1954, in Graham, Okla. and they were blessed with 64 years of marriage.

He received his master’s degree from Oklahoma State University.Bobby was an excellent teacher and coached girls’ basketball and volleyball. He left teaching and worked for Ford Tractor and Claas. He later sold cars and RVs in Kingston, Okla. where he and
Emma made their home and retirement until he moved to Anadarko in 2021.

He was an avid OSU and OU fan. Bobby enjoyed fishing when he wasn’t working. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, Margaret and Josephine Fanning; brother, Tommy Fanning, and wife Emma.
 

He is survived by his sons, Paul and wife Kris, of the home, Mark and wife Sandy of Perkins, Okla., Renny of Binghamton, NY; daughter, Beverly Hocker of Wills Point, Texas; grandchildren, Russell Fanning and wife Melissa, Carter Fanning and husband AJ, Courtney Fanning, Cody Fanning, Nick Langilotti, Kyle Fanning, Heather Hocker, Halie King, Dalton Hocker and Shelby Hocker;
great-grandchildren, Benjamin, William, Claire, Allison, Dean, Karlee, Kenlie, TJ, Emaleigh and Walker. 

Visitation was Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services were on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. 

Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Anadarko, Okla.
