Bobby Gene Rushing, 93, of Kingston, Okla., passed awayonTuesday,April15,2025,attheFamilyCareCenter in Kingston. He was born on June 4, 1931, in Powell, Okla. to the late James Jesse Rushing and Joanner Smith Rushing.
Bob was raised in Powell and attended Madill Schools. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Army serving three tours in Vietnam, retiring after 28 years as a Staff Sargent E6.
Bob married Waynda Lea Cooper on July 28, 1952, in De Queen, Ark. and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2008. He later worked at Uniroyal, retiring after 20 years. Bob was affiliated with the Church of Christ, and he enjoyed playing solitaire, working on his tractor and gardening.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife; eight brothers, Henry, Jim, George, R. L., Jack, Billy Joe, Charlie and Dwain; and sister; Ana Mae Eldridge.
Bob is survived by his children, Randall Gene Rushing and wife Sue of Madill, Okla.; Lorrie Ann Gorrell and husband, Gabriel of Madill, Okla.; Kelly Sue Lowe and husband, Greg, Madill, Okla; Jennifer Joann Rushing of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Skyler and Kellanie Lowe of Madill, Okla., Tabatha Scasta of Madill, Okla., Matt Rushing of Soldier Creek, Okla., Shannon Trammell of Madill, Okla.; great grandchildren, Reign Scasta, Cutter Scasta, Dillon Rushing, Archer Trammell and Atticus Trammell.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service wasMonday, April 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Chris Webb officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
