Hospital volunteers plan Christmas sale

The Madill Hospital Volunteers held their regular monthly meeting November 17, 2022. The main topic of discussion was planning the annual Christmas Sale.

It was decided that it would be held Friday, December 3, and Saturday December 4. Friday’s hours will be 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. Saturday’s hours will be 8 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Refreshments will be served, and everyone will receive a 20% discount on all purchases.

Dan Coates gave a report on the hospital improvement progress. The state approved the emergency room in a final inspection. The building behind the hospital is being converted into a senior mental health facility. It will be called the Senior Life Solutions. There will be both individual and group counseling. A program director has been hired.

He also reported that the cafeteria is now open to visitors. It was closed during the pandemic and reconstruction to the public and only open to hospital employees.

Karen Wellman was appointed to reorder Angel Delight candles. Jane Matlack Shockley received a donation of pecans from Joe and Gayle Avery.

Matlack has shelled them, and they are now on sale in the shop.

The last order of business was planning the group’s Christmas party. It will be held on December the 9 at 12 p.m. at the home of Carylon Weldon. All members and retired members are invited. The next meeting will be December 19, 2022.
