The Kingston High School boys track team won the 2022 Regional Championship on April 30, 2022, at the Madill Regional Meet. The boys excelled in the relays scoring first place in the 4 by 800m and 4 by 400m. They also placed second in the 4 by 200m relay and fifth in the 4 by 100m relay.
Kingston dominated in long distance running with junior Brycen Ward placing first in the 800m run and 1600m run. Ward also placed second in the 3200m run. Freshman Cash Walker showed the springs in his legs by placing first in high jump and seventh in long jump.
Freshman Brayden Ellisor is also a fellow jumper who finished fifth in long jump. Junior Damon Rowe flew by his competitors earning him a first-place finish in the 300m hurdles. Senior Andrew Backenstoes also got a gold medal in pole vault.
The Kingston boys track team has shown they are one of the best in state. These boys will look to take home the crown of State Champions for the second year in a row. The state track meet will take place at Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City on May 5 and 6, 2022.
