Kingston Girls’ Basketball Head Coach Chad Rumer announced last week that Lady Redskin Senior Avri Weeks made the Oklahoma Coaches Association 2021 All State Girls Basketball Team. The team was made up from schools class 3A and smaller.
The statistics from Weeks’ career are staggering. The record books show 1461 points scored, 866 rebounds, 240 steals and 117 assists. This was accomplished despite missing most of her junior season due to knee surgery.
Her freshman season concluded with the runner up trophy in the state finals. Her sophomore year she went down with the knee injury in the first round of the state tournament.
Then, her junior year, the team narrowly missed another state tournament appearance. To round out a phenomenal high school basketball career, this past season – her senior year – they lost in the first round of state.
Weeks also excels in the classroom. She has a 4.0 GPA and will be Co-Valedictorian of her class along with her cousin Emi O’Steen. Weeks was a KXII TV A+ Athlete this year as well.
After graduation, Weeks plans include continuing her athletic career at Southeastern Oklahoma State University on the Lady Storm team. She will join her brother RJ Weeks, who was also an OCA ALL State selection. He just completed his red-shirt freshman season for the Savage Storm.
