Madill Rose Garden Club Yard of the Month

The Madill Rose Garden Club awarded Chris and Angela MurrayofWestTaliferro Street September Yard of the Month, celebrating their exceptional landscaping and vibrant curb appeal. Maintaining a pristine landscape is always a challenge, but it is especially impressive following a brutally hot and intense Oklahoma summer.

Scorching temperatures and dry spells often leave local lawns parched, making the Murrays' achievement a true testament to dedication and hard work.

Situated on a prominent corner lot, the Murrays' classic brick ranch-style home serves as the perfect backdrop for their meticulously maintained property. The propertyisanchoredbyavast expanse of lush, deep green St. Augustine grass that creates a flawless, carpet-like foundation for the rest of the landscape.

Vibrant color and texture are throughout the entire design. The beds feature a stunning mix of creeping lantana and multicolored confetti lantana, which offer a dense, pollinator-friendly blanket of blooms.

Adding height and drama to the display are planters filled with striking pink mandevillas climbing above spiky New Zealand flax grass. Completing the look are beautifully arranged hanging baskets filled with cascading million bells add a final, cheerful pop of color to the home's exterior.

The Murrays' hard work has truly transformed their corner lot into a neighborhood treasure, making them incredibly deserving of this month's honor.

The Yard of the Month program aims to foster citywide pride and recognize the hard work of residents who go above and beyond to maintain their property. By showcasing such dedication, the program encourages others to invest in their homes and contribute to the community's overall aesthetic.
