Madill softball returns home Thursday

Runs were difficult to come by for the Madill Lady Wildcats last week as they dropped four games to strong competition in fast pitch softball action.

The Lady Wildcats fell to defending state champ Lone Grove (10-0) and then dropped 10-1 and 9-3 verdicts to Ada in district play. They wrapped up the week with a 10-2 loss at Class 5A Durant.

Madill will be back home Thursday against Tishomingo at 5 p.m.

Aubrey Orr provided the only Lady Wildcat hit in the Ada opener on a triple in the third inning as well as adding one of the team’s four in the second meeting.

The Lady Wildcats held a brief 3-2 lead after one stanza in the Ada nightcap but were outscored 7-0 the rest of the way. Orr singled in the first and moved to second on a Lana Wigington sacrifice bunt. Karma Williams followed with a single and Chloe Miller walked before Kinsley Troxtell slapped a double to center that cleared the bases as part of her two hits in the game.

In the Durant outing, Madill rallied to knot the score at 1-1 in the second stanza as Jade Soto doubled and scored on a two-out error by the Lady Lions.

Durant reeled off nine straight runs before the Lady Wildcats got back on the board in the fifth after an Orr triple. Williams, Soto andEmersynThomasposted the other Madill hits in the contest.
