Kooper Walker from Kingston High School was one of ten national officers elected to serve on the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America's (FCCLA) National Executive Council at the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
Kooper, son of Billy and Jo Gayle Walker, will be serving as FCCLA's Vice President of Development throughout the 2026-2027 year.
The 2026 National Leadership Conference had more than 10,000 attendees present. Twenty-six National Officer Candidates took part in the National Executive Council election process as they underwent intense interviews, completed a FCCLA knowledge test, and presented a prepared speech on stage during the five-day conference.
As a National Officer, Kooper will be accompanying his team of nine other members, which make up theNationalExecutiveCouncil, to FCCLA National Headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, for a planning meeting to prepare for the year. The council will build off existing goals to prepare a program of work, as well as develop future goals for the organization. Additionally, the officers will prepare for future workshops and meetings on the local, state, and national levels. During the year, Kooper will also assist in planning the focus and content of FCCLA's 2027 National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas, June 22-26, 2027.
Kooper did an outstanding job representing FCCLA and Kingston High School as a state officer this past year, and it is an incredible honor to watch him now advance to the national level. Kingston has a proud tradition of FCCLA state officers, but Kooper has made history as our first national officer. His election is a testament to his leadership, commitment to FCCLA, and genuine desire to serve others.
