George Allen French

French

George Allen French, 77, passed away on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. French, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veterinarian, cattleman and friend, was born August 21, 1948, at Madill Hospital in Madill, Okla., and lived his entire life in Marshall County, the place he proudly called home.

George graduated from Madill High School in 1966, where his classmates voted him “Most Friendliest” — a title he was always very proud of. He went on to Oklahoma State University, earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1972, and returned home to Madill to open his own veterinary clinic. For years, he cared for the animals of Marshall County and the families who loved them.

After many years in veterinary practice, George sold his clinic and returned to his family land, continuing the family tradition of raising cattle. Ranch life brought him deep peace and fulfillment.

George was married to Kylene French for 40 years. She was his steadfast companion through every season of life. His greatest pride was his family.

George was a lifelong supporter of Oklahoma State University, especially Cowboy football. Through many difficult seasons, his loyalty to the Pokes never wavered. His friendships ran just as deep. Kind and easygoing, George had a rare gift for making others feel welcomed and valued, and the friendships he formed lasted a lifetime. George will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his enduring friendships, his love for his cattle and his deep roots in Marshall County — and, of course, for never missing an opportunity to cheer on his alma mater. Loyal and true, in everything. Go Pokes.
