After leading throughout the first three periods, the Madill Lady Wildcats watched their season come to anendwithalateLoneGrove rallyintheAreaTournament last week.
TheLadyHornsoutscored Madill by an 18-10 count over the final eight minutes as the Lady Wildcats went cold down the stretch.
Leading scorer Lamiyah Brown staked Madill to a 1714 edge through one period by pouring in 10 points in that stanza. The advantage was still 26-24 at the half and 40-36 after three frames thanks to another nine-point eruption from Brown.
Lone Grove put the defensive clamps on Brown in the fourth quarter, holding her scoreless but the Lady Cats hung in there as Allyson Coles notched four of her five points for the game in that period. Arlette Andrade and R.J. Combs also tossed in three points apiece in the last frame.
Brown pumped in 22 points to lead the charge in her final game in a Madill uniform. Chloe Miller contributed nine, Andrade scored seven, Coles had five, Karma Williams notched four and Combs added three points.
