Iva Mae Sprouse - Harkins, 71, of Oakland, Okla., passed awayonSaturday,January24,2026,atherhomeinOakland. Iva was born on December 28, 1954, in Sulphur, Okla., to the late James Monroe Sprouse and Katie Lula Faye Garrison Sprouse. She was raised in Sulphur and later moved to Madill, where she graduated from high school. Madill remained her home for the rest of her life.
She worked as a teacher for many years caring for children at Fran Drummond Daycare and INCA Daycare, a role she truly loved. Iva had a servant’s heart and extended that love by serving as a foster parent, touching many young lives along the way. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending her quiet time reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary K. Glenn; grandson, Koda Travis Harkins; brothers, Alvie Sprouse, Jasper Sprouse and William Sprouse; and sister; Katie Nabors.
Iva is survived by her children, Brian Harkins and wife T.J. of Kingston, Okla., Daniel Harkins of Madill, Okla., Elliott Harkins of Madill, Okla., William Harkins and significant other Ashlee Neu of Madill, Okla., Trace Harkins of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Deanna Woods and husband Kaylan of Madill, Okla. Lane Harkins of Kingston, Okla., Brianna Harkins of Kingston, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Waylon Harkins, Evie Harkins, Kope Woods, and Kayce Harkins; brothers, Joe Sprouse and David Sprouse; sisters, Janie Weaver, Rosemary Rousey, Shirley Harkins and Barbara Williams.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2026, at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla., with Greg Idell and Mark Glenn officiating. Interment will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Okla. Services are under the direction of Watts Funeral Home.
Casket Bearers will be Mark Glenn, Robert Sprouse, Kaylan Woods, Deuce Glenn, Ben Perkins, Billy Alwalt and Josh Nabors.
Honorary Bearers are Daniel Harkins, Elliott Harkins, Trace Harkins, William Harkins and Lane Harkins.
