Madill’s wrestling teams swept to victory at all levels in dual action on the road at Durant last Thursday to open the 2026 portion of the schedule.
The Wildcats scored a 53-25 triumph in varsity boys action while the Lady Wildcat grapplers squeezed out a 24-23 decision. Madill’s juniorboyswere55-18victors over the Lions while the girls added a 42-11 win.
Wrestlers from throughout the region will converge on the Madill Event Center this weekend when the Wildcats host the Annual Thrill in Madill Tournament.
Madill picked up three forfeits as well as six match victories to the high school boys win against the Lions. A pair of pin fall decisions at 120 and 126 pounds fueled a flurry of five consecutive wins that broke a 6-6 tie and gave the Wildcats the lead for good while improving their dual record to a perfect 4-0 on the season.
Braxton Gimenez got things rolling with a first period fall over Durant’s David Lee at 120 and Dayton Gimenez duplicated that by droppingCananWallsat126.
Following a Gabe Thomas forfeit the Wildcats got a 20-3 technical fall win by Brayden Valles against the Lions’ Jacob Briggle at 138 pounds with Jackson Harper pinning Jon Pierce in the first period at 144 to extend the commanding Madill lead to 35-6. Durant scored four straight victories to cut into that margin but that was as close as the Lions could get as Madill finished it off with the final three weight class verdicts.
Xavier Diaz began that run with a third period pin of Hayden Bridges at 190 pounds and Alex Sarabia stoppedDurant’sEvanSmith in a first period fall at 215. Ramiro Rangel garnered a forfeit at heavyweight to book-end the forfeit Patrick Speers picked up to begin the dual at 106 pounds. Xavier Quintanilla added a pin fall win in exhibition competition.
The varsity girls dual was a tight one throughout and not decided until the Lady Wildcats’ Anglena Mendiola pinned Durant’s Camryn Eubanks at 235 pounds to give Madill the victory.
Janelle Mancillas scored the first Madill win with a fall decision against Lily Stilwell at 125 pounds, Madison Barrow pinned Malorie Day at 170 and Mekayla Westbrook followed with a fall triumph facing Elizabeth Solis in a second 170-pound matchup.
In the junior high boys division, the Wildcats rolled to a big lead with wins in the first nine matches and cruised to the dual victory.
Adrian Colescott (80 pounds), Teo Barrientos (92), Blaze Greenwood (98), Ranger Willis (106), Ryder Hutton (132) and Jaxon Klutinis (140) each picked up first period pin fall decisions. Donavan Sinks (112 pounds) andLayneDorer(119)pinned their Durant foes in the second period and Damien Trejo scored a 12-4 major decision at 126 pounds.
Madill’s final victory came at 195 pounds where Rodrigo Cruces notched a 13-11 decision.
Anola Szulc, Addyson Westbrook, Brissa Reyes, Valaria Barrientos, Johanna Gonzalez, Maylin Narvaez and Arelia Trevino all scored pin fall triumphs.
