Madill continued to dominate junior high state cross country last week as the Wildcats claimed the Class 4A team state title while the young Lady Wildcats took runner-up honors.
On the boys’ side, Madill outdistanced Lone Grove while the Madill girls finished only behind first place Pauls Valley.
The Wildcats’ top individual finisher was Kamden Martin, who placed third with a time of 11 minutes, 47.52 seconds. Akzel Fernandez was a medalist as well, taking 13th in 12:38.61.
Lorenzo Vasquez added a 22nd place effort of 12:55.11, Neymar Camacho took 31st at 13:11.26, Gunner Willis checked in 38th with a time of 13:39.24 and Diego Perez posted a 14:05.44 for 49th place.
Other Madill boys placers included Braysen Carnes, 53rd (14:11.72); Marco Epsinosa, 73rd (14:48.65); Brodi Hawthorne, 76th (14:55.82); DustyJames,81st(15:07.88); Zaid Rivera, 84th (15:09.72); Israel Hernandez, 86th (15:14.47); Alexzander Rodriguez, 90th (15:22.07); Axel Recio, 92nd (15:30.72); Bladmir Trevino, 96th (15:40.87); Manuel Barrientos, 104th (16:01.84); Jesus Camacho,118th (17:22.38); and Anthony Padron, 130th (18:42.16).
For the Lady Wildcats, Catalina Valadez was the top individual as she claimed seventh individually with a time of 9 minutes, 19.87 seconds. Alyna Stuckey was just behind in 15th place at 9:31.05.
Ellie Cabrales added a 25th place mark of 9:45.49, Sammy Brown was 33rd in 9:55, Hadley Schneider took 34th at 9:56.65, Reigan Mc-Michaelwas39thin10:06.19, Audrey Martens notched a 47th place time of 10:24.93 with Merari Contreras adding a 48th at 10:27.03.
