The Madill Takedown Club currently has three of its members representing Team Oklahoma in the 2025 USMC Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND in July. One of those wrestlers, Lucas Franklin of Coalgate, is the winner of the Triple Crown: State Champ three times over in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco. Another member, Gage Vaughn of Caddo, is the only Junior Girl in any weight bracket from Southern Oklahoma to qualify for Fargo. And the third is Alex Sarabia, Madill’s first and only wrestler to qualify for Fargo and go to represent Team Oklahoma.

Coach Peter Hammer summed up the Club’s excitement over the upcoming wrestling clinic.

“To have RBY and Mirzo Khayitov join us in Madill is huge for Southern Oklahoma’s youth wrestlers,” Hammer said. “Our aim has always been to create as many opportunities as possible for kids and young adults. Historically, those opportunities have been and continue to be in Folkstyle. With our new focus on the international wrestling community, we’ve also made freestyle and greco accessible.”

“The awesome thing about this particular clinic with the elite of the elite in Roman and Mirzo is this: Folkstyle wrestlers will learn all of the transferrable Freestyle techniques that have the potential to make them unstoppable forces of nature on the mats at Folkstyle State in 2026.”
