After the bad storms damaged the US 70 Roosevelt Bridge, ODOT has been scrambling to repair the bridge.
The causeway leading to the bridge was partially washed away due to the rains. Power lines also fell from the land erosion.
On May 27, the bridge was completely closed at 9 a.m. to allow OG&E to make necessary repairs. Even though all lanes are projected to be open, ODOT suggest drivers to either find an alternate route, or be careful.
ODOT took to Facebook to inform drivers of the upcoming issues.
'Drivers can use US-70 to SH-199 to SH-78 as a detour or locate an alternate route. When lanes reopen, remember traffic has been shifted away from the flood damage at the causeway (not on the bridge); and that the bridge is safe. Lane widths are narrow and the speed limit is reduced to 35 mph. Drivers need to slow down, set aside distractions and stay alert. Oversized loads remain restricted. Repairs will be made to the causeway in the coming weeks.'
