Henry Oldham Woods III, 80, of Madill, Okla., passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Madill. He was born on December 31, 1944, in Madill, Okla. to the late Henry Oldham Woods II and Ada Lee Flynt Woods.

Henry was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1963 and enlistedintheUnitedStatesArmyserving for over twenty years before he retired as a United States Army Major. He served with his childhood best friend, Phillip Lambert and their friendship spanned the time of 67 years.

Henry married Judy Lee Hunter on December 29, 1972, in Sherman, Texas and she preceded him in death on August 12, 1986. He owned and operated Woods Grocery for many years until he sold it in 1976, it was a family business dating back to his father. Henry also delivered propane for Sooner Propane, moved houses for Calvin Fowler, delivered trailers for S&H Trailers, owned and operated Woods Feed and Seed and operated several oil wells.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Madill where he was very active for several years. Henry was a drag racing enthusiast and with his dear friend Royce Vanbuskirk, they operated Woods/Vanbuskirk Racing for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rebuilding old cars and trucks and working on his oil wells with his son Kaylan. He loved Lake Texoma where he spent time skiing with his family and fishing with Greg Martens. Henry loved his family and friends and truly believed you work hard and play hard.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brother John Woods Henry is survived by his children, Henry Kaylan Woods and wife Deanna, Madill, Okla., Elizabeth Savage and husband Basil Jr., Madill, Okla., Candice Coleman and husband William, Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, B.W. Savage and wife Jenny-Lu, Hunter Savage, Henry Kope Woods,EmilyBurnsandhusbandTucker,MollyColeman; great grandchildren, Beau Savage, Vera Savage, Collins Burns and Kate Burns.

Visitation was heldTuesday, May 27, 2025, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral service was Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Steve Littrell officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Casket Bearers were Henry Kaylan Woods, Phillip Lambert, Royce Vanbuskirk, Greg Martens, Max Combs and Trevor Raper.

Honorary Bearers were Basil Savage Jr., William Coleman, B.W. Savage, Hunter Savage, Beau Savage, Henry Kope Woods, Rowdy Votaw, Josh Simon, Kenny Pruitt, Richard Conley, Chris Jarvis and Tom Jamison.
