Kingston outslugged Madill, 14-4, in a Marshall County baseball clash on Friday to close out a busy week of action for both teams.
The Redskins also split district matchups with Valliant as well as stopping Idabel by an 11-5 count while improvingtheirrecordto10-7 on the season.
Madillmeanwhiledropped both it’s league contests for the week, falling to Plainview in both, 18-1 and 11-4.
Junior Ewan Weaver had the big offensive performance in the Marshall County showdown as the Kingston standout notched four hits and drove in five runs.
The Redskins plated a run in the first inning on a RBI single from Blane Henry but Madillcounteredwithitsown run-scoring hit from Derwin Sanchez.
Anothertallyinthesecond frame put Kingston ahead to staybutathree-runthirdand two-run fourth provided the biggest part of the Redskins pulling away over the middle stanzas. Reid Patterson belted a two-run double to fuel the first uprising and a Henry two-run double keyed the second one.
Madill responded to stay within striking distance thankstoaCooperMcHatton solo home run and singles by Sanchez, Kris Grimaldo and Daquan Williams.
Still leading 7-4 through five frames, Kingston erupted with four in the sixth to take complete control. Weaver was at the forefront with a double to knock in a pair and Lander Burkhalter chipped in another double to plate two. Weaver homered again when he stepped to the plate in the seventh inning.
Kingston notched 13 hits in the game, led by Weaver and then two each from Greene, Henry, Burkhalter and Ethan Mowles.
Hill worked all seven innings on the mound for the Redskins, scattering four runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and more importantly no walks.
Sanchez contributed two hits to lead the offensive charge for Madill. Cooper McHatton, Kris Grimaldo and Williams ended with one hit.
The Redskins notched an all-important 3-2 victory against Valliant before dropping a 12-3 decision in the district nightcap.
Hayden Seeney was outstanding on the mound in the triumph, yielding only two unearned runs on four hits while fanning three.
Kingston scored what proved to be the game winner whenBradyGreenesmacked a solo homer to lead off the fourth. That ended up as one of his team-high two hits.
Things didn’t go nearly as well in the second game against Valliant as the Bulldogs built a 12-0 edge with all three Kingston runs coming in the sixth sparked by a Seeney double.
In the Idabel triumph, Weaver and Burkhalter each eruptedwiththreehits.Rumer, Patterson and Mowles all contributed two hits.
Burkhalter went the distance on the pitching side, yielding five runs on seven hits with a pair of walks.
Madill couldn’t get much going in the Plainview losses. McHatton and Pruitt had the only hits in game one with Sanchez contributing two. Valadez, McHatton, Pruitt and Williams.
