Former MHS principal under investigation

Jason Ward, the former Madill High School principal, is currently under investigation for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student when he was a teacher at Dickson Public Schools. On March 17, 2025, the alleged victim made claims that she and Ward had a romantic relationship from 2014 till 2017.

Through a Facebook post, the victim said that she and Ward knew each other since he was her junior high softball coach. She also stated that she and Ward “crossed paths often” because he helped coach the varsity basketball team when she was in high school.

The allegation also stated that one of her teammates approached her about some texts between the teammate and Ward. The alleged victim approached Ward about the texts and he “acted nervous.” She said that the texts to the teammate subsided, and she thoughteverythingwasdone.

She alleged that after she confronted Ward, he texted her with a “sob story” that his wifewassupposedlycheating on him. The victim continued to run down what allegedly happened in her Facebook post. She said that after they texted for a few weeks, Ward gained her trust.

He then convinced her to go for a drive with him, so they could talk. She alleged he took her to a house behind the Ardmore ball field so they “could talk longer.”

The victim said after that, he tried to get her to drink some alcohol, to which she initially declined. Allegedly after a little bit of peer pressure, he convinced her to take a few drinks of the alcohol.

That is when she alleged that things turned for the worse. She noted in her Facebook post that after she was wobbly from drinking that Ward “proceeded to sexually take advantage” of her.

The victim also alleged that the relationship lasted for a few years, up until she was a freshman in college. She said that Ward became controlling and jealous.

In her post, she also alleged that Ward found out about the investigation on March18andresignedbefore spring break ended.

Of course, the investigation is still ongoing. According to the Oklahoma State Department of Education, they turned the investigation over to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations. According to the OSDE press release, Ward could be facing charges of Rape, Lewd and Indecent Proposals or Acts to a Child Under 16 and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. The OSDE is investigating him for the above listed possible charges and Standards of Performances and Conduct for Teachers andStudentCommunication.

Asofprintdate,nocharges have been filed against Ward. However, the investigation is in the early stages.
