Dalyse Jo (Hawkins) Kilhoffer, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Durant, Okla. Dalyse was born on January 27, 1948, in Arizona to the late Marjorie Walton.DalyseandEdward“Ed”Kilhoffer were married in Mexico on December 1, 1962. From this marriage were born five children: Dale, Brenda, Vickie, Jill and Bobbie, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Ed and Dalyse own and operate a concrete business and have lived in several states, however they always considered Oklahoma home. They have resided in Kingston for 30 years and loved living on the lake. Prior to retirement, Dalyse drove a school bus for several years followed by working for General Motors. However, her main joy was spending time with her family.
Dalysewasadevotedmother,grandmaandgreatgrandma. She prided herself in raising her kids and spoiling grandkids and great grandkids. Many of her grandchildren caught their first fish on the dock with her and grandpa cheering them on. “Grandma” or “Grandma Dalyse” had a nickname for each of the grandchildren and had a special way of saying I love you at the end of the day or a phone conversation.
Before the decline of her health, you could find Ed and Dalyse on the lake fishing and then in the kitchen cooking all that they caught. After her health began to decline, Ed bought her a motorized scooter, this scooter gave her freedom back. She loved riding around the casino and not needing anyone’s help.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Hawkins; and sister, Peggy Hawkins She is survived her husband of 62 years, Ed Kilhoffer of Kingston; sister, Nancy Valdez; children, Dale Kilhoffer and wife Ellen of Checotah, Brenda Back and husband Curtis of Moore, Vickie McCoy and husband Alan of Dougherty, Jill Smith of Madill, Bobbie Williamson and husband Jo Howard of Archer City, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 7,2025, at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill. The graveside followed at Woodberry Cemetery in Madill. Officiants were her sons-in-law, Reverend Alan McCoy and Reverend Jo Howard Williamson Visitation was held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a .m. to 8:00 p.m. and a family hour from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service was Friday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Her sonsin- law, Reverend Alan McCoy and Reverend Joe Howard Williamson officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
