Flossie Dyer, 100, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at her home in Denison, Texas. Flossie was born December 22, 1924 in Paris, Texas, the daughterofArthurW.BrownandTinsey (Jones) Brown.

She was raised on a farm where hard work was common and it instilled in her a work ethic that she carried with her for her entire life, not retiring until well into her 80’s. She and her husband of 77 years had J.E. Dyer Construction in Kingston, Okla. They were well known and respected for the quality of their work. They attended Faith Harvest Church in Kingston, where she taught Sunday School and loved to sing. Flossie was also a faithful member of the Ladies Auxiliary and spent holidays putting flags on the Veterans’gravesinKingston.ShewasalsoaRedHatLady.

Having traveled in all the of the lower 48 states, she found Colorado to be her favorite. Being a Snowbird, they went to Oleander Acres in South Texas, and loved going across the border into Mexico. Always quick to welcome a new face, her smile could brighten any day. She will be terribly missed by all her friends and family.

Flossie was preceded in death by her sister Fern Jones; and brother, John Wallace Brown.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Turney; niece, Anita Robertson of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Linda Jones, Cynthia Wallach and husband Tom; nephew, Jimmy Jonews and wife Lynita all from Denison, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 17 at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Okla. with Chaplain Dennis Noblett officiating. Interment services will follow at the Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, Okla. Family hour will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday,January16atBrown’sFuneralHomeinDurant.
