Eugene W. Trout, 67 of Kingston, passed away at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, on December 19, 2024. He was born October 28, 1957, in Bedford, Va. to Lee Don Trout and Regina I. (King) Trout.
Eugene met and fell in love with Leslie Hulsey, and they married on October 1, 1977. They raised their two boys, Nathan and Matthew Trout, along with two girls, Dawn Hulsey and Elizabeth Hulsey, whom he loved and called his own.
He was a member of the Castleberry Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He has lived in Oklahoma since the late 1960’s, mostly in the Kingston area. He worked in construction most of his life and built Trout Construction with his son Nathan. Later, his other son Matt joined the team and now his grandsons are working alongside them.
Eugene loved hunting and fishing, especially with his sons and grandsons and went as much as possible. He took hunting trips with his close friends, Keith Davis and Al Davis, hunting for deer, elk and pheasants in Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico, as well as here at home. Eugene loved spending time with his very special cousins and going to Trout reunions.
Eugene felt that always providing for his family’s needs and helping them with life lessons, along with working beside them and learning new and different techniques in woodworking, were major accomplishments in his life. He was very proud of the fact he built his family home at a young age himself and stayed married until he left this life. If he could have given anyone a life lesson, it would be to cherish each moment and always put your love and trust in the Lord. His faith never wavered even when the battle against him was so strong. He was a mighty warrior fighting the evil of cancer, usually always with a smile.
Eugene is preceded in death by both parents; brother, Richard Trout; brother-in-law he called his brother, Freeman Hulsey, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Trout of Kingston, Okla.; sons, Nathan Trout and wife Stephanie, Matt Trout, all of Kingston, Okla.; daughters, Elizabeth Richards and husband Tim of Kingston, Okla., Alisha Dawn Pye of Trenton, Texas; grandchildren, Angel Ornelas of Kingston, Okla., Jesse Ornelas of Madill, Okla., Joshua Trout of Ardmore, Okla., Olivia Pye, Keilee Hulsey of Trenton, Texas, James Trout of Kingston, Okla.; greatgrandchildren, Bryleigh Bishop, Leah McQueary and Kaden Kilpatrick; close friends that he called brothers, brother-in-lawRaymondHulsey,KeithDavisandAlDavis.
