The Madill City County Library hosted a voter registration drive on September 17. Kammie Elmore, the Marshall County Election Board Secretary said the drive was to increase voter participation.
“We want to encourage heard,” Elmore said.
Elmore said that even though some people don’t believe their voice matters, it only takes one vote to make a difference.
“Every voice matters,” Elmore said. “I don’t know if you remember Carter County’s last election, but one more vote would have made a difference, so every vote really does count.”
Assistant librarian Lori Drockton said they have resources to assist voters in making an informed vote.
“Do your research, you can’t just go into a voting election without the knowledge,” Drockton said.
For any voter who missed the event, they can pick up a registration form from the library, fill it out and drop it off at the election board at any time during business hours. Voters can also go to get registered that way too,” Elmore said.
