Halleigh McCain is a senior at Madill High School and has attended Madill since Pre-K. Her parents are Patrick and Amy McCain and grandmother is Brenda Courtney. She has four siblings namedMaddy,Brenna, Jordan, and Branden.
Currently, McCain participates in competitive cheer and cheer through high school. In the past she has also done speech, cross country, track, and basketball. She has received second place in a poetry competition her junior year, placed in multiple competitive dances from first to fifth place, and has received several medals in cross country as well as third place in a 5k. Over the years, McCain said her biggest challenge has been to keep up with all the activities she does.
She attributes her success to her many inspirations.
“I have two that have inspired me when and helped me along the way when it has come to my sports,” she said. “My former dance captain, Myah Keyes, has inspired me the most. I always looked up to her and she was always there to help me when I needed it.”
“Secondly,mydancecoach Bridget Wandel,” she continued. “She always pushed me to be the best. She genuinely cared and helped me push myself harder in dance, sports, and just to be a better version of myself. I am grateful to both for helping me accomplish my goals and pushing me to be better.”
“Both my parents have inspired me in different ways,” she added. “My mom by always being kind to everyone andhelpingmealongtheway and my father for pushing me in life to do better. They have always been so supportive of me and believed in me. I am thankful for all their help to get me where I am today.”
McCain said she plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma for the theater and dance program and major in theater arts and minor in dance performance. Her advice for the younger classmates is, “don’t give up on your goals and always try because if you try you will reach them.”
