JaelenWilliamsisasenior cheerleader at Madill High School and has attended Madill public schools for thirteen years. Her proud parents are Megan and Ray Williams. She has a younger brother named Rhett.

She said her favorite memory from high school and being in cheer was getting to paint the trestle her sophomore year after beating Madill’s biggest rivalry, Kingston High School, in football.

She said confidence has always been a challenge for her.

“Growing up my biggest challenge has been staying confident,” she said. “When I was younger, I struggled being confident but as I have gotten older, I have grown out of it.”

“The upperclassmen have really inspired me and have pushed me to want to be a better cheerleader,” she continued. “Watching the older cheerleaders when I was younger made me want to do cheer. And honestly, I need to thank my coaches for not only making me a better athlete but a better person. Theyhavetaughtmesomany valuable life lessons. They have been like my second family.”

When it comes to William’s inspirations in life she said her grandmother is high on her list, along with her parents.

“My grandma Gayla Hoedebeck has inspired me in life. She teaches me every day how to be more kind and how to be a better person,” she said. “She is such a role model to me. My parents have supported me through everything as well and I love them dearly.”

Williams said she plans on attending the University of Oklahoma and major in biology and follow with dental school. As far as her advice to the younger classmen she said, “Never take anything for granted. It flies by faster than you think.
