The Lady Redskins traveled north to battle the Davis Lady Wolves on Tuesday, August 22, for the second time. After an exciting victory at home, Kingston was hopeful to sweep the Lady Wolves in districts. Despite outhitting Davis, 11 to 9, and loading the bases for four innings, the Lady Redskins fell 7 to 5 in the fifth, earning the team’s fifth loss of the season.
On Thursday, August 24, theLadyRedskinshostedthe Caddo Lady Bruins. After a strong showing by the Lady Bruins, Kingston was unable to keep up and fell 11 to 0. Currently, the girls are sitting at a 2-2 district record.
The team hit the road Friday, August 25, to take on the Edmond Santa Fe Lady Wolves and Valliant Lady Bulldogs at the Plainview Festival. Kingston took the victory over Edmond Santa Fe, 3 to 0. Freshman Khloe Hall showed grit in the circle, starting the game for the LadyRedskins,andrecording a total of 12 outs.
Kingston played back-toback and failed to keep the momentum going. Although the Lady Redskins were the first on the board, the Valliant Lady Bulldogs took the lead, outhitting Kingston and earning eight runs in the first inning, setting the tone for the game. The Lady Redskins took the loss, 11 to 3, making it their seventh loss of the season.
