Two drownings at Lake Texoma

A Norman man accidentally drowned at Catfish Bay in Kingston on March 10. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said he was found dead at the scene. OHP said the 68-yearold malewassittingonachair on a boat dock at Catfish Bay and stood up and stumbled, falling into the water and did not resurface.

On March 11, another drowning of an elderly man in Marshall County was reported. KXII News stated that 85-year-old, Thong Le was fishing with his son and his son’s friend near Ranger Station on Lake Texoma and drowned around 3 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The report states that Le’s son and the friend left the area to look for minnows, and when they came back Le was face down in the water. OHP said he was found face down in six inches of water. The report also stated Le was not using a flotation device.
