OK school implements Goto Green initiative

Representatives from GoTo Green welcomed law enforcement officers and guests from across the region to Marietta High School on Wednesday, June 17, for a live demonstration of the company's Green Light emergency response system and KIDaccount technology. Beginning at 1 p.m., members of the GoTo Green team joined local and visiting law enforcement agencies, school personnel and invited guests to provide a firsthand look at how the systems operate during critical incidents.

The event focused on showcasing tools designed to improve communication and accountability during emergencies. During the demonstration, the Green Light system was activated to illustrate how the technology can provide real-time information and situational awareness to first responders.

Officials explained how the system is intended to assist law enforcement and emergency personnel quickly coordinating their response during active threats and otheremergencies.Attendees also received an overview of KIDaccount, a companion system designed to help with accountability and reunification efforts involving students and families during crisis situations.

To further demonstrate the capabilities of the technology, the GoTo Green team conducted a live-fire exercise. Various firearms were discharged under controlled conditions, allowing visitors to witness how the system functions in real-world scenarios and observe the speed at which information is relayed to responding agencies.

Members of the GoTo Green staff said the technology was designed with flexibility in mind and can be scaled to meet the needs of facilities of varying sizes. They noted that the system canaccommodateeverything from small churches and local businesses to K-12 school districts and large college campuses, allowingorganizations to tailor the technology to their specific needs and budgets.

'Our goal is to provide a platform that can grow with an organization,' company representatives explained. 'Whether it's a rural church, a family-owned business, a high school campus or a major university, the system is designed to provide the same level of situational awareness and accountability when seconds matter.'

Marietta Police Chief Sylvester Martin, who attended the demonstration, praised the technology and its potential to improve emergency response efforts. Following the presentation, Martin said he believes communities throughout southern Oklahomashouldtakeaclose look at what the system has to offer.

'I would encourage municipalities in our area to seriously consider this system,' Martin said. 'Anything that can help first responders quickly identify a threat, coordinate resources and improve communication during an emergency is something worth looking at. From what we've seen today, this technology has the potential to be a valuable tool for schools, businesses and communities.'

Law enforcement officers and guests were able to observe the technology in action and ask questions regarding its operation and possible applications within their own jurisdictions. Organizers said the event was designed to provide agencies and school officials with a better understanding of the tools available to enhance school safety and improve coordination among emergency responders.

The demonstration highlighted the growing role technology is playing in emergencypreparednessand school security, as communiin ties across Oklahoma and neighboring states continue seeking ways to strengthen their response capabilities and protect students, staff and the public.
