Marion Massey Stone

Marion Massey Stone, 86, of Soldier Creek, Okla. passed away peacefully from this life on December 17, 2020 at her home. She was born in Ada, Okla. on June 11, 1934 to the late Homer Jay Massey and Zada Diamond Elizabeth Martin.

Marion was raised in her hometown and graduated from Ada High School. She soon married the love of her life, Hassell Lee Stone Jr., in 1957 and the couple moved to Latta, Okla. and then Tyler, Texas for a short time. In 1977, the couple moved to the Catfish Bay area before purchasing the Soldier Creek Marina in 1980. The couple owned and operated Soldier Creek until Hassell’s passing in 1995 and from there, Marion handled the operations by herself until 2016 when she retired.

Marion was an excellent wife and mother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She loved to spend time working on her yard and shopping.

Marion is survived by her daughter Sherrie Girouard of Soldier Creek, Okla., her grandchildren; Summer Sanders, Samantha Sanders, and Hunter Girouard of Soldier Creek, Okla., great grandchildren; Danica Sanders, and Juvia Vondrak, and her sister Mildred Leslie of Ada, Okla.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son; Ricky Dwayne Stone.

Visitation was held at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Services were Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Mike Hobbs officiated the service. Interment was at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Casket Bearers were Roland Dennis, Bobby Sanders, Craig Girouard, Moe Rogers, Steve Pierce, and Dylan Vondrak.
