Madill had two exciting events happen last week. Walmart held their re-grand opening and Allsups opened for business.
The re-grand opening for Walmart was held on August 4. The event was to celebrate the remodel and show the customers the new items.
The remodel occurred over the summer. Changes and upgrades to the store include gluten-free products, a repurposed pharmacy, new floors and new lighting and displays. Store manager Melanie Keck-Rush said the upgrades were done with customers in mind.
“We’re excited to provide our customers with more product options, especially those with food sensitivies,” said Keck-Rush. “The other aspects of the remodel will also make it easier for customers to find the items they need, saving them time in the process.”
The other upgrades are activated corners, which are displays at the corners of certain departments for customer engagement. Elevated departments with displays to showcase products, and digital touchpoints, which are QR codes and digital screens throughout the store to assist customers in accessing Walmart products.
The other exciting event was the opening of Allsups, the new gas station on Hwy 70. Even though there has yet to be a grand opening, opening day was an exciting event.
The store is bright, and accessible with very friendly employees greeting customers as they enter the store.
