A bad decision landed a local man in jail on February 23. At approximately 2 a.m., a Marshall County Deputy observed a vehicle failing to stay in one lane. Since the car was driving erratically, the deputy initiated his lights and attempted to pull the driver, Cornelius Tripp, over. Tripp failed to stop and began to try and elude the officer. With the deputy in pursuit, Tripp traveled east on HWY 32 to Enos Road, then to Shay Cut Off. Tripp entered the oncoming lane several times during the pursuit.
Kingston Police Officers were able to successfully deploy the Tire Deflation Tool that brought Tripp to a stop. Tripp was then taken into custody without any further incident.
Tripp, a 53-year-old male from Kingston is facing charges for Endangering Others while Eluding/Attempting to Elude and Driving Under Suspension.
