Ronald Bruce Myers was born on November 20, 1938 in Ada, Oklahoma. The son of Bruce Vernon Myers and Bonnie Marie (Lee) Myers. Ron went to be with his Lord and Savior at the Lake Country Nursing Center on December 12, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was 81 years old.

Ron and Sharon Lynne Canny were married on January 8, 1960. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 8, 2020. Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve in 1958 and served at Tinker Air Force Base until 1964. Ron and Sharon lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for a number of years and later moved to their lake home in Lebanon, Oklahoma. Ron worked as a traveling salesman for 40 years covering six states selling electric motors and transformers. Sharon enjoyed being able to travel with him the last 25 years of his work. When Ron wasn’t at work, he enjoyed building cedar birdhouses which he sold to local nurseries. Ron loved his family very much and he loved spending time outside. He enjoyed being out on the golf course and he also spent many years out on the lake fishing. His most recent hobby was crappie fishing. Ron holds the record at Lake Murray in Ardmore, Oklahoma for the largest recorded crappie with it being sixteen inches long and weighing in at two and a half pounds. Ron had a wonderful sense of humor and he was always cracking jokes and making people smile. He had many friends and he was always able to make a new friend wherever he went.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Bruce Myers and mother, Bonnie Lee Myers.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; daughters, Lora Minyard and husband Derrie of Marietta and Kelley Spain and husband Rowdy of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren Courtnie Robinson and husband Chad of Marietta, Kyle Minyard and wife Lauren of Lebanon, Josh Spain and wife Bradi, Jeremiah Spain and wife Taylor, and Jacob Spain all of Tyler; and five great grandchildren, Blakelie, Case, and Bransen Robinson and Sydney Spain and McKenleigh Butler.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Enville or Lebanon Fire Department through the Flanagan Watts Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the home of his daughter Lora Minyard in Enville, Oklahoma.
