The Madill First Methodist Church is hosting the 62nd Annual Zelma Bazaar on November 7. The theme of this year’s event is “Candy Cane Christmas”, and it runs from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 301 W. Taliaferro and Third Street in Madill.
The day will begin with booths opening at 7:00 a.m. allowing shoppers to begin purchasing immediately. An opening prayer will be offered at 7:30 a.m. by Reverand Steve and Wanda Littrell.
This year’s bazaar will feature booths which include baked goods, plants, Christmas items, pillows, stitchery, woodworking and Christmas wreaths. Personalized Christmas ornaments will be sold during the day.
A baked potato luncheon will be held form 11:00 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will include a baked potato with all the trimmings including cheese, sour cream, chili and onions, broccoli cheese, bacon, and ham. It also includes a salad, homemade cakes, coffee and tea all for $10.
Takeouts will be available by calling 580-795-3568 or 580-795-3732.Carryoutscan be picked up at the west door of the Education building at the church.
The turkey dinner will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The menu will include turkey, dressing, gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, cranberry salad, rolls, fruit, pumpkin or pecan pie and a drink. The price for the turkey dinner is $15 for adults and $10 for children eight and under.
Carry outs will be available by calling 580-795-3568 or 580-795-3732. Tickets can be bought at the church office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Carry outs can be picked up at the west door of the Education building.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to support local, state, national and international mission projects. The local mission projects include Hope for Marshall County, Relay for Life (Cancer society), Bread of Life, Santa’s Elves, Southeastern Oklahoma State University Wesley Center and East Central Oklahoma State University Wesley Center.
