January 3

Lady Redskins place third in the Mid-America Classic Tournament, and the Redskins placed fifth in the Tournament of Champions. The Madill Wildcats took third place at the Ronnie Moore Invitational while the Lady Wildcats placed sixth.

January 10

The body of 52-year-old Joe Lindsey was found during a wellness check. His death is still being investigated.

January 17

A bus of immigrants heading from Mexico to Chicago stopped in Madill due to heating issues with the bus and medical issues for a few occupants.

Michelle Hernandez and Colt Crowson was named Queen and King of the Madill Wrestling Homecoming.

The Madill High School Band Director, Kendal Hasty, was awarded the “South Central Oklahoma Band Directors Association Band of the Year” award for 2019.

Three juveniles were arrested for Armed Robbery at the Sonic in Madill.

Dan Little made it into the record books by being the oldest person to complete the World Marathon – completeing seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

The Kingston Redskins and Lady Redskins both advance to the state championship.

Kingston Redskings basketball wins championship to become the 2019 State Champions.

Fermn Lafitta and Gavin Anderson both placed first place in their respective weight classes at the State Weighlifting Meet.

A 14-year-old juvienile was arrested in conjunction with an Armed Robbery at the Love’s Country Store.

Sanford Steakhouse burns down from mysterious fire. Even though the restuarant was closed, it was a landmart. Massive rains soak Marshall County, but does not dampen the Sand Bass Festival spirit.

The Madill Animal Shelter is over capacity with multiple dogs housed in one cage.

Coty Tweedy, a Madill High School Senior was in a horrific car crash that broke several bones and put him on the bench for several weeks.

73rd Annual Madill Rodeo Roundup announces Kensley Williams as Queen and Tillie Chapa as Princess.

Hope for Marshall County food pantry forced to closed doors for a few weeks in attempt to apply for grants due to food shortage.

The Oklahoma Grand Lodge pulled the charter for the Kingston Masonic Lodge #287 amid money mishandling accusations.

Jedi Chef travles to Kitchen 377 and tries their scrumptious food. Betting on a good meal, and he hit the triple sevens and won big on taste.

Local man fined almost $8,000 for 32 counts of overlimit of Striped Bass.

In a case that rocked the community, Kevin Moseley, a 56-year-old male from Kingston was arrested for the murder of his wife and two step children. Cory Jones, a pawnbroker from Madill was attacked in his place of business by Gilbert Stephen.

September 5

Linda Powell, a Marshall County Game Warden for 30 years, retires and hangs up her keys.

September 12

The Madill School Bond passes with a 73.97% vote.

Jedi Chef visits Smiley’s Restaurant and is happy he accidentally found the gem of a diner.

Seniors John Venable and Lydia Wiese were voted 2019 Madill Homecoming King and Queen, respectively.

Marshall County Sheriff Danny Cryer travels to the White House for an Immigration Summit.

Tasha McCuan, a former Kingston teacher was sentenced to five years after pleading guilty to Second-Degree Rape.

House Bill 1269 set to go into affect, reducing hundreds of possession charges from felonies to misdemeanors.

The Eigth Annual Fill the Sleigh event is announced. Stephen Gilbert is sentenced to 10 years for the assuault of Cory Jones the pawnbroker.

Mary Ann Hale is sworn in as Madill City Council Place #1. Marshall County Jail changes procedures after multiple people get charged with bringing drugs into the jail.

November 21

Kingston Redskins defeat Christian Community School Royals in their road to the championship. The game was moved to Madill due to a power outage on the field.

November 28

Kingston Redskins advance after defeating Hugo. Five suspects were arrested in a drug ring.

December 5

Joshua Rember leads police on a mulit county high speed chase, and wound up crashing and in critical condistion.

December 12

A pair of theives are arrested after they are found hiding under a bed. The give away was the suspect’s foot sticking out. A woman and man were arrested for prostitution after a report of a fight.

December 19

Santa visits Madill Schools. State Question 805 Sentencing Reform is delivered to the Oklahoma Secretary of State’s Office.

Alliance Health Care breaks ground for new addition. Matt Caban, The Madill Record editor gets a new look through fresh eyes while reading to the ECC children.
