Yvette Ariciaga

As the second semester starts to progress, MHS celebrates the journey of senior Yvette Ariciaga. With her parents Avelino and Aurora Ariciaga, her supportive grandparents Javier and LourdesAlvarez,andAvelino and Josefina Ariciaga, as well as her aunts and uncles, Ariciaga has cultivated her talentsandpassionsthroughout her life in Madill.

Having attended Madill Schools her entire life, she has immersed herself in a variety of activities. She has been an active member of the National Honor Society (NHS), as well as participating in soccer, track and cross country.

Reflecting on her favorite memories, she recalled the thrill of her cross country team's fifth-place finish at the state meet during her freshman year.

'That experience brought us all closer together, and it was incredible to achieve that as a team,' she shared.

In soccer, she highlighted the bonds formed with her teammates, expressing gratitude for the camaraderie and support they provided throughout her journey.

Looking ahead, she said she plans to further her education at Murray State College, with aspirations to eventually transfer to East Central University (ECU).

She said her gratitude extends to her directors and teachers.

'I am so grateful to have you all as teachers,” she said. “I appreciate everything you have done to help me learn and grow.'

She said her parents have played a pivotal role in her life, and Ariciage is quick to recognize their unwavering support.

'Thank you, Mom and Dad, for being here for me every step of the way,” she said. “I am extremely blessed that y’all never gave up on me. Thank you for pushing me to do my best.”

Inspiration for the senior comes from various sources. She said her mother stands out as her greatest motivator, demonstrating that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. Similarly, her soccer coaches have instilled confidence in her abilities as a player, fueling her passion for the game.
