It was a difficult start to the season for the Madill baseball team last week as they struggled to get much going offensively in the early slate of games including a pair of district contests.
The Wildcats dropped those league openers by 22-0 and 19-0 counts to powerhouse Elgin ahead of losses to Blue Ridge and Bells in Madill tournament action that was moved to turf fields in the North Texas area because of rain.
Madill picked up singles from Derwin Sanchez and Tyner Roberts in the season lid lifter before notching a lone single by Daquan Williams in the second contest.
Dropping a 9-0 verdict to Blue Ridge, Texas, the Wildcats tallied a double by Roberts and single from Jayse Thompson. Facing a rugged Bells squad, Madill dropped the 10-0 decision with Abram OsornioandWilliamsposting singles.
The Wildcats are scheduled to visit Marietta on Thursday in their final action before Spring Break.
